LIBRARIES is a temporary library. The exhibition was organized to find clues to the evolution of the building. “Goshikibashi Building” was built about 35 years ago as a warehouse and R&D facility between a canal and a coastal street. The horizontal continuous windows, offers a scenery of the Tokyo Bay. Inspired by an environment with abundant natural light who keeps shining in before sunset, we focus on the relationship between books, bookshelves and the sun. We have scattered ten unique bookshelves that interact with it. “LIBRARIES” directed and designed by architect Ryo Matsui, is a declaration that we aim to create buildings that continues to change while taking root in this city, with a mixture of all uses.
